How to compile Xilinx libraries for Modelsim simulations

This tutorial explains how to compile Xilinx ISE and EDK libraries for simulation purposes.

1. Start Modelsim
2. From Transcript window, enter "compxlib", and follow the GUI instructions. Note that the libraries should be recompiled for each new revision of ISE or Modelsim.
3. From Transcript window, enter "compedklib", and follow the GUI instructions. Note that the libraries should be recompiled for each new revision of EDK or Modelsim.
